About Clear Language Fundamentals

Clear Language Fundamentals workshops give you hands-on practice with clear communication strategies. Each workshop is 90-minutes and focuses on a specific application of plain language. 

 

Each workshop includes a 1-hour coaching session to help you apply what you learned directly to your work.  

Clear Language Fundamentals Offerings

Introduction to Writing Clearly

In this workshop, you will learn practical strategies to communicate more effectively in writing. We’ll compare and contrast real-life examples to see what clear writing looks like and you’ll get hands-on practice applying strategies to sample texts.

Introduction to Speaking Clearly

This workshop explores how plain language strategies apply to spoken communication. We use videos, group discussion, and role-playing activities to demonstrate more effective conversations, phone calls, and presentations.

We have sliding scale options for this training. When you register, you can pick from one of the options below.

We want you to attend this training, so choose what’s best for your situation. These recommendations are guidelines. We don’t review who pays what, and we won’t follow up with any questions. 

 

Picking the highest rate you or your organization can reasonably afford allows us to offer free and reduced fees for those who need it most, increasing access for everyone.

  • Your organization has an annual budget of $5 million or more, or

  • You feel like you can afford this rate and want to help keep reduced rates available.    

Full Rate

$80

We recommend this rate if either:

  • Your organization has an annual budget between $1 million - $5 million, or

  • You’re paying for this training yourself, and you can comfortably afford this price.

Reduced Rate

$30

  • You’re paying for this training yourself.
